Kettering Health emergency departments are now seeing walk-in patients as well as those transported by first responders.

"Our teams have worked incredibly hard to bring imaging up, so we could end diversion in our emergency departments," said John Weimer, Kettering Health senior vice president and leader for incident demand.

It's another major milestone in the recovery process for the health system. Earlier this week, Kettering Health announced it had also got its Radiation Oncology technology running once again. Officials said it would normally take weeks to do so, but it only took five days.

Last Tuesday, the Kettering Health announced "unauthorized access" caused the cybersecurity issue, which limited access to some patient care systems and affected the call center. Kettering Health has been working to get systems back online and has been posting updates on its website.

Late last week, it said patients who have appointments scheduled should still assume their appointment is still happening unless contacted by phone or reschedule.

"Our offices, while operating on alternate procedures in this situation, are still seeing patients when possible," Kettering Health said.

Additionally, the health system said all procedures are evaluated on a case-by-case basis as Kettering Health continues to recover.

"We understand our patients’ concerns for their privacy and information security. We have no evidence that personal cell phone apps, like MyChart, or the information in them have been compromised. Additionally, Kettering Health will never reach out to staff or patients via social media," Kettering Health wrote in a statement.
