Two juveniles and a woman in her 70s were stabbed to death at a home in Fayetteville on Friday morning, according to police.
Mackendy Darbouze, 26, was arrested at the scene and has been charged with three counts of first-degree murder, police said later Friday. The slain woman was identified as Beatrice Desir, 77.
The attack happened on Bellarthur Lane, just off of Clinton Road. A call reporting the stabbing came in just before 9 a.m., police said.
"Once officers arrived on scene, they located three individuals suffering from fatal stab wounds in the home. Two of the victims were juveniles and the third victim was an elderly female," police said.
It appears that everyone involved in the stabbing was related, police said.
Several others in the home witnessed the stabbing, Fayetteville Police Chief Kem Braden said during a Friday morning press conference. Braden did not say how the people were connected, but he did say "it's all family related."
Everyone involved lived at the home, according to police.
"This is a tragic incident that affects our entire community and the well-being of our first responders," Braden said.
Police are investigating previous calls made to the home, which they said were all medical.
“There is no current threat to the neighbors, the neighborhood or the Fayetteville community at large," Braden said.
Darbouze was being held Friday evening at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.
