CHARLESTON, S.C. - Charleston, one of South Carolina's most historic cities, is also one of the most flood prone. Now, local leaders are unveiling “The Water Plan” in hopes of combating the problem.
The plan includes a series of different projects that aim to solve the city’s flooding issues. Some improvements include raising roads and developing stormwater parks.
The mayor of Charleston, William S. Cogswell Jr. says in order for this plan to be a success, it must be collaborative.
"We’re not going have much success without the counties involvement on a variety of different fronts, logistically and potentially financially as well." he said.
More details on "The Water Plan" can be found here or on the city's website.
