One person was killed in a standoff with deputies at a vineyard in Lexington Monday, according to officials.

Deputies were called to The Grape Escape Vineyard on Bethesda Road near Ridge Road in response to someone shooting a gun. A standoff followed, according to the Davidson County Sheriff's Office, and the suspect was later found dead inside.

Officials have not yet released the name of the person killed or the names of the officers.

"Officers involved are being held pending further investigation," according to the sheriff's office.

The North Carolina State Bureau of Investigations is also investigating, which is standard procedure in a shooting involving officers.
