HILLIARD, Ohio — Coding is quickly becoming a universal language.
Meanwhile, here in Ohio, kids at a learning center are getting a chance to dabble in it by building their own video games.
What You Need To Know
- Kids at Code Ninjas learn about coding and how to create video games
- The learning center is also about exposing kids to the tech industry
- Code Ninjas offers after-school and summer programs
Code Ninjas teaches kids how to create instructions for computers to follow in a fun way.
"Our goal at Code Ninjas is really just to make it easy for kids to learn coding, while having fun,” said tutor Iyyad Al-Soufi. "We typically like to let the kids play games with each other, or we'll have fun STEM activities to do."
With Intel coming to Ohio, Al-Soufi said exposing kids to the tech industry is key.
"By the time these kids grow up,” he said, “coding is not going to be an intimidating thing for them. It's more like something that they can just pick up and try to learn. That's definitely important with big players like Intel coming in because it encourages them to get into the workforce or pursue something like that.”
It’s already sparked something inside 12-year-old student Eric Moorhead.
While he could go far at Intel, Moorehead said, "I like working with the computer, so I can help make games in the future.”
