Sarah Felder is reading to groups of children as part of her foundation she called, "My Little Readers Club."

The idea was sparked when she was tasked to come with a way to change the community through her Girl Scout Gold Award Project.

She said she wants to be a teacher some day and help younger students find their voices.

“It’s just really important to make sure you’re educating the next generation into the right path so that they don’t go down this very controversial path that we are on right now," Felder said.

Fedler's goal is to help teach children to love the skin they are in through the books she reads them. Her books cover a lot of social issues such as racism, religion and equality.

“They are seeing all of this stuff and they’re hearing all of this stuff, but they don’t think they can engage in the conversation because they are too young or they don’t know enough. So my goal is to spark those conversations and to help them go to those resources and that’s ultimately in books. That’s where a lot of history is," Felder added.
