ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The eastbound lanes of the Gandy Bridge have been reopened.
The lanes had been closed for several hours due to a serious crash earlier Thursday morning.
Eastbound traffic out of Pinellas County into Tampa was blocked on Gandy Boulevard, which led to major backups in both directions later in the morning.
The lanes were reopened just before 9:30 a.m.
Authorities have not released any details of the crash, which happened just before 4 a.m. on the Tampa side of the eastbound lanes.
