KERNERSVILLE, N.C. — Farms across the state are opening up their gates to welcome visitors for outdoor spring activities.

Dewberry Farm in Kernersville opened its tulip fields for flower picking, photo ops, and family fun. This is the farm's fourth year, and this year 103,000 tulips and 28 varieties of them are available.

Dewberry Farm Owner Art Johnson says it’s been busy since the farm recently opened.

“On average between children and kids there will probably be about 700 to 800 people that come through here a day, from say 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.," Johnson says.

Admission is $5 for adults and $3 for children 2 and over. All cut tulips are $1.25. The farm also recommends bringing your own clippers and baskets or you can pay $2 for a bucket. Tickets are required and are available online.
