GREENSBORO, N.C. — Guilford County Schools has launched a dashboard on its website to track every positive case within the district among both students and staff.

This comes as the district made the decision to phase back into in-person learning.

GCS Chief of Staff, Nora Carr says it is important to maintain privacy while being transparent.

"While contact tracing is a private process and people don't really have a right to know other people's medical information, we also understand there is a lot of interest in knowing at least what the basic numbers are and basic cases are," Carr says.

One mom says it makes the decision to send her kids back to school much easier.

"I have high-risk parents and my father-in-law is high-risk, so I definitely would want to know what's going on in my child's school," Teresa Barber says.
