HIGH POINT, N.C.-- High Point's “Plant Seven,” a section of the downtown Congdon Yards campus, will open next month.
It will house restaurants and offices, as well aa space for small furniture companies called The Generator. The Generator will have 11 pieces of high-tech manufacturing equipment that most small companies don't have access to.
Leaders hope to attract tenants and designers from across our state and beyond.
“It’s going to be a place that High Point can really be proud of. We don’t really have a downtown. The downtown is 12 million square feet of showrooms that come alive twice a year. We’ve actually created a new downtown around the baseball stadium,” President and CEO Patrick Chapin said.
Chapin says this project has helped to sustain more than 1,000 jobs, between construction workers and engineers, during the pandemic.
The building will open November first.
Leaders expect well over 100 employees to start working at "Plant Seven" when it opens.
