OXFORD - The Town of Oxford has shut off electricity and water to the gym which has refused to close in defiance of state coronavirus restrictions.

This comes after a judge ordered Prime Fitness and Nutrition to close and gave the town permission on Tuesday to shut the facility down by any means necessary if it remained open. 

Owner Dave Blondin has been fined each day the gym has been open since mid-May. He says his decision to stay open was made on behalf of his members' mental health and his own livelihood. 

There is a protest planned in front of the gym for Saturday.
