WORCESTER - At a press conference on Sunday, City Manager Ed Augustus announced that another person has tested positive for coronavirus in Worcester.

The new tests have brought the total to 13 confirmed positive tests in Worcester.

Additionally, there's confirmed cases in Grafton and in Shrewsbury.

More important notes from the press conference

  • The City will be touring the DCU Center on Monday to determine if the facilities would be functional for any overflow at area hospitals. 
  • The City of Worcester has received a $100,000 grant from a state task force to monitor patients and keep track of patient and testing data.
  • A job board has been created for employers and individuals at MassHireCentral.com for anyone looking for work at this time.
  • There are a number of UMass workers in quarantine due to potential contact to COVID-19.
  • The FDA approved a COVID-19 test with a 45-minute turnaround. It could be released in the coming days.
