WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The city of Winston-Salem is giving the public a first-hand look at a day in the life of a firefighter.
They launched a new web series last week called "WSFD Saves."
The goal of the series is to show off some of the department's daily positive outcomes, especially on the medical side.
Medical calls make up three quarters of its annual call volume.
One of the first episodes highlights the story of Larry Gossett, a man who had a heart attack in 2017 and says he owes hsi life to the fire department.
You can watch the first two episodes of WSFD Saves on YouTube. There are a few more episodes in the works now and the chief hopes to do hundreds more.
