NORTH CAROLINA -- A Randolph County mother is searching for answers about the death of her son.

Authorities found 33-year-old Brandon Embry dead inside his apartment on South Church Street in Asheboro back in September.

His mom, Sarah, says his injuries were so bad, he went into a coma and all of his organs shut down.

So far, there have been no arrests in the case, leaving Sarah frustrated.

"The dots aren't connecting. Everything of what happened, I just feel like I'm not getting the answers that I need to understand what happened to my son," she said in an interview with Spectrum News. "I know someone was involved, put him in a coma and beat him!"

Spectrum News reached out to the department for further comment but haven't heard back.
