DAVIDSON COUNTY, N.C.—Neighbors in Davidson County are concerned about hunters shooting ducks on Badin Lake too close to their homes.
- Neighbors living on Badin Lake say hunters are shooting ducks too close to their homes.
- They want the county to put an ordinance in place to cite hunters breaking the law.
- Neighbors are advocating for responsible hunting.
Christy Zedrick has lived right next to Badin Lake in Davidson County for 22 years. But now, she says men are hunting ducks on the lake next to her house. Zedrick said if the county were to pass an ordinance, it could force the hunters to move away from her home.
"I know it's only bird shot. But you could lose an eye, a small pet could lose their life, a small child, even worse,” Zedrick said. “I'm not against hunting. I'm not trying to take anyone's firearms away. I'm just asking for responsible hunting."
North Carolina Wildlife tells Spectrum News there have not been any hunting violations detected or reported in this area.
