GREENSBORO, N.C. -- One of Greensboro's signature restaurants is getting some national attention as one of FoodNetwork.com's "50 States of Diners".

Smith Street Diner was chosed for North Carolina's spot on the list.

Boasting the tagline, "Country style cooking, eight days a week," Smith Street has been feeding the folks of Greensboro since 2005.

Some of the diner's signature items include their fried chicken (served every Thursday) and gigantic "cat's head" sized biscuits.

"It's also become sot of a community place where a lot of people will meet and talk about community issues when they get together," says Owner Beth Kizhnerman. "We try to do a great job. We try to be consistent with out food...we try to hire wait staff that are friendly and do a great job."

In recent years, Smith Street Diner has also been recognized by the state of North Carolina and Southern Living.
