HIIGH POINT, N.C. -- The city of High Point will be receiving its very first micro food hub.

  • The hub will be a place where farmers from High Point's seven urban farms will be able to clean, process, and store their fresh produce
  • Growing High Point is using a grant from the Food Alliance's Food Security Fund
  • It will be open to the public, so anyone in the community who wants to store their fresh produce is welcome to do so

The hub will be a place where farmers from High Point's seven urban farms will be able to clean, process, and store their fresh produce.

The hope is that the hub will also give them a chance to distribute their produce to restaurants, grocery stores, and the local farmer's market.

Growing High Point is using a grant from the Food Alliance's Food Security Fund.

The organization hopes this hub will help to chip away at food insecurity in the community as a whole.

As of now, the plan is to have the hub itself done by mid-October and then start day to day operations in the spring.

It will be open to the public, so anyone in the community who wants to store their fresh produce is welcome to do so.
