Spectrum Internet donated $2,500 along with laptops to the Boys & Girls Club of Wayne County Wednesday.
The donation served as part of the annual back-to-school backpack giveaway.
State House Majority Leader John Bell, State Sen. Jim Perry, and Rep. Raymond Smith all attended.
Smith called the donation a game changer for young students.
"We could be a game changer. You got young people in this community who can't afford cable, who can't afford internet. They come to the Boys & Girls Club and receive the opportunity to do their homework and be able to access the internet to see the world, that other people take for granted - this is absolutely huge," Smith said.
