GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The City of Greensboro might bring back red light cameras due to the number of people running lights and causing crashes.

  • Greensboro could be bringing back red light cameras.
  • Police say there is around one crash per day just from people not obeying signals and signs.
  • Reducing traffic light violations is a part of the city's Vision Zero Plan.

Police say right now there's around one crash a day just from people not obeying signals and signs.

"Last year's stats were a little over 350 crashes where the contributing factors were a signal violation, and so far this year, we're at 182...I think 180,” said Officer AD Reed.

Reducing traffic light violations is one of the main focuses of the city's Vision Zero Plan, an effort to vastly reduce car crashes.
