ROWAN COUNTY, N.C. - The U.S. Department of Agriculture is giving back to kids in need through a federally funded program.
- The Yum Yum Bus delivers free food to children in rural areas of Rowan County
- The bus operates five days a week and serves breakfast and lunch.
- The bus will not operate Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5 due to the holiday
The Rowan-Salisbury school district's nutrition team has taken this program one step further, and is reaching kids throughout the county.
The Yum Yum Bus travels to the rural areas of Rowan County delivering food to children for free!

"When a child is hungry more than likely it’s not just that they’re hungry. Their whole being is affected. They’re angry, and they can’t focus", said Lisa Altmann the nutrition director for Rowan Salisbury Schools
The bus will not operate Thursday, July 4 and Friday, July 5 due to the holiday.
