- The NC Department of Transportation said they're helping business owners like Terry Miller work through this by giving the businesses alternative vehicular and foot traffic routes for their customers
There are new ripple effects as a result of the Marshall Street Bridge closing Tuesday morning.
Twin City Hive Coffee Lounge Owner, Terry Miller, said it’s hard for people to get to his coffee shop with all of the closures and detours.
Miller said the decrease in foot traffic is hurting their business the most because now nobody can walk over the Marshall Street and Cherry Street Bridge, which he said brought in a lot of customers.
“We have seen kind of a significant about 1/3 of our business has stopped since the closure of the Cherry Street Bridge and then today with the closing of Marshall, we've definitely seen a decline in traffic pattern,” explained Miller.
The NC Department of Transportation said they're helping business owners like Terry Miller work through this by giving the businesses alternative vehicular and foot traffic routes for their customers and helping in any other way that they can.
