RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- Authorities are on the scene of an officer-involved shooting in Archdale.
- Deputies responded to 5783 Zelma Blvd in Archdale
- One deputy encountered Carlos Javier Roman Santiago inside the residence with a knife
- The deputy shot Santiago who was later pronounced deceased by EMS
Deputies responded to 5783 Zelma Blvd in Archdale in reference to an assault.
This was reportedly not the first time deputies have been called to the home. A similar call came in back in 2017.
Upon arrival, one deputy encountered Carlos Javier Roman Santiago inside the residence, armed with a knife.
The deputy shot Santiago who was later pronounced deceased by EMS.
The SBI is conducting the investigation.
