WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- USA Gymnastics' Elite Trampoline and Tumbling Challenge will bring over 300 athletes to Winston-Salem over the weekend.

  • Close to 400 hotel rooms were reserved for the weekend 

The President of Visit Winston-Salem said several industries will see a boost in business.

"This event will have a great impact and fill almost 400 hotel rooms in downtown, they're using the annex, and probably have an overall economic impact of $300,000 on the community," Richard Geiger said.

The program director for Trampoline and Tumbling said USA Gymnastics chose Winston-Salem because of the community.

"We love it here. The community has been really supportive and really friendly. The venue has been wonderful. Everyone is so welcoming here," Jacqui Godfrey said.

Geiger said the event will have an over $300,000 economic impact on the city. He said close to 400 hotel rooms were reserved for the weekend.
