AUSTIN, Texas — The Texas Department of Public Safety is working a serious crash involving a car and an 18-wheeler.

It happened on westbound highway 71 near Richards Drive just before 7 a.m. Wednesday.

Officials say the westbound lanes of 71 were closed for about two hours. By 9 a.m. officials reopened one of the westbound lanes.
