HIGH POINT, N.C. -- The High Point Rockers are still recruiting for the upcoming season.

  • The team has its players but what it needs is volunteers to house them during the season
  • Most of the athletes are moving to High Point from out of the area and may not be able to afford an apartment near the stadium
  • If you offer to open you home to a player, expect him to keep odd hours, as games often don't start until 7 p.m.

Most of the athletes are moving to High Point from out of the area and may not be able to afford an apartment near the stadium on a minor league baseball salary.

"It's nice to have a place to call home, a home-cooked meal, somebody else that's a family," said director of operations Jimmie Keefe.
