CASWELL COUNTY, N.C. -- A newly released autopsy report is giving more details on a lion attack that killed an intern at the Conservators Center in December.

The report found that a large ball blocked the gate where the lion was being held, preventing it from closing properly. The lion grabbed Black's ankle and pulled her into the pen.

The lion then dragged her around the pen by the neck.

Puncture wounds were found in Black's skull and her spinal cord was also fractured.

Deputies shot and killed the lion after attempts to tranquilize it were unsuccessful.
