WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. -- The gardening community came together to share seeds dating back to the 1700's on Saturday.

  • Hundreds came to Old Salem's annual see swap
  • Many of the seeds shared are heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation
  • The seed swap also included a potluck

Hundreds came to Old Salem's annual see swap.

Many of the seeds shared are heirlooms, passed down from generation to generation.

"Everyone is willing to provide education," said one local gardener. "Each seed that I picked up had someone at the table, willing to tell me more about it."

The seed swap also included a potluck with many of the participants bringing dishes that feature items from their home gardens.
