GREENSBORO, N.C. -- After a couple of sunny and very cold days for the Triad, arctic high pressure is scheduled to gradually lift out the Carolinas on Wednesday.
- We're expecting to see a brief period of light freezing rain and drizzle late tonight and early Wednesday morning
- Temperatures are set to warm quickly by late Wednesday
- A round of heavier rain is scheduled to sweep through Thursday morning
But before that occurs, we're expecting to see a brief period of light freezing rain and drizzle late tonight and early Wednesday morning.
Now, this ice will be light. That said, we may see enough is spots to create some slick spot on the roads. We're mainly concerned with areas such as bridges and overpasses. So, give yourself a little extra time for your morning commute.
Despite the light freezing rain early Wednesday, temperatures are set to warm quickly by late morning. Highs should reach the lowers 50s.
We'll continue to see a lot of clouds and maybe even a shower or two into the afternoon. Nonetheless, a round of heavier rain is scheduled to sweep through Thursday morning. Clouds will clear by the afternoon and we'll return to much colder weather to end the week. In fact, highs will likely fall back into the 30s over the weekend.
