CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The UNC Board of Trustees met behind closed doors on Friday.
- Little is known about an emergency meeting held by the UNC Board of Trustees on Friday.
- The meeting comes on the heels of Chancellor Carol Folt's departure.
- Folt will leave UNC at the end of January.
Details of the meeting are still unknown, but it’s the first time that the board has gathered since Chancellor Carol Folt announced she was stepping down and had the base of the Silent Sam statue removed from campus.
The only topic listed on the agenda was "confidential personnel matters" thought to be in reference to Folt.
Folt initially planned to finish the school year, but the Board of Governors announced Tuesday that she will leave at the end of January instead; a decision Folt has spoken out about publicly.
No timeline has been announced to replace Folt.

The board must decide what to do with with the statue by March.
