Around one to two inches of rain stands between us and Christmas. That's the expected rainfall for Thursday through Friday night across the North Carolina Piedmont.  Closer to the coast, two to four inches is possible along with a few strong storms.

The heaviest rain over the next couple of days should fall from Thursday afternoon through late Thursday night.  With an already saturated ground, localized minor flooding is possible.

Off and on showers will likely fall through Friday and Friday evening.  The rain should finally come to an end all together late Friday night or very early Saturday morning.

Plenty of sun and dry weather is in the forecast from Saturday through at least just after Christmas Day.
