NORTH CAROLINA -- Hope you enjoyed the dry weather so far this week, because rain returns for Thursday and Friday.

- Rain will diminish Friday night and sunshine returns for Saturday and Sunday
Increasing clouds tonight will keep us from another frosty morning as morning lows will drop to the low 40s.
You may make it out the door Thursday morning before the rain, but look for the showers to overspread the region during the afternoon. The heaviest rain this week will fall from late Thursday afternoon into Thursday night. A few thunderstorms will be possible during that time, mainly near and east of I-95.
Much of North Carolina should see around one to two inches of rain Thursday and Friday. Some locations near the coast could see two to four inches.
Rain will diminish Friday night and sunshine returns for Saturday and Sunday.
