NORTH CAROLINA -- Finally, the sun has returned to the Carolinas. After days of cloudy, rainy conditions our weather is improving as low pressure tracks east out of the region.

  • Clouds will remain dominate for much of the area through the morning as a few light showers move through
  • Due to the return of the sun, highs today will be warmer than yesterday
  • Our next storm system will arrive Thursday and it will likely bring widespread rainfall through Friday evening

Clouds will remain dominate for much of the area through the morning as a few light showers move through. However, by midday the sun will shine over a fair amount of the area and that will continue through the afternoon.

Due to the return of the sun, highs today will be warmer than yesterday. For the Triad, expect highs in the low to mid 50s. Daytime highs will range from the mid 50s to low 60s for the Triangle and Sandhills area.

A moisture deprived cold front will sweep across the region Monday. Due to the lack of available moisture we'll remain dry. High pressure will be a dominate weather feature over the coming days, so expect a dry and mostly clear stretch of weather through Wednesday.

Our next storm system will arrive Thursday and it will likely bring widespread rainfall through Friday evening. Skies will clear Friday night and make wake for dry and fair conditions next weekend.
