GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Several school districts in the Triad are remaining closed due to icy roads and piles of snow in many neighborhoods.

Guilford County schools announced they will be closed on Thursday, December 13 for students and school staff members, except for essential personnel, due to ongoing challenges with secondary road conditions, school parking lots, entrances, and walkways.

School officials say workers will be back out plowing all day Wednesday.

Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools and Rockingham County schools have also announced closures due to unsafe road conditions.
