The university did a test run in the spring and now they have about a dozen scooters waiting for students to use them.

The staff says when students come back to campus this fall semester to be mindful of the pedestrians when riding scooters or bikes.

"If you're going to be out during a class change, if you're on a scooter or bike, we absolutely think the safest place for you is the street or in a bike lane following traffic laws, save the sidewalks for pedestrians," said Suzanne Williams, UNCG’s transportation associate director.

The college could get about 100 more in the coming months.
