Several things have happened since that video Edwards uploaded. So far, it has been seen more than 4.5 million times. The man in the video has now been fired from his job.
Edwards recorded a video on the Fourth of July. In it, she says Bloom wanted to see her driver’s license before she could be let into the pool.
She accuses him of singling her and her family out because they were African-American.
Bloom then asked Edwards for her ID before calling police.
Edwards is seen questioning him in the video, asking, "Is there an ordinance that that we have to show ID? Where does it show that I have to show an ID to use my pool, my own pool?"
At the time of the video recording, Bloom was a part of his the Glenridge Homeowners Association, where he was the pool chair until his resignation.
In a statement, the HOA president says, “We apologize to our neighbors who were directly hurt by these actions, and we hope that everyone in Glenridge will join us in redoubling our efforts to care for and support all of our neighbors."
Since this video went viral people started the hashtag #IDAdam, and once he was identified, people went to Sonoco Display and Packaging on Facebook and started giving them negative reviews.
Bloom is no longer employed at Sonoco, saying Bloom does not reflect the core values of the company.
