AUSTIN, Texas – Travelers can now wait for their flights while enjoying some new amenities at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport.
Austin-based businesses, the Departure Lounge and Berry Austin, are now open at the airport.
The Departure Lounge offers travelers a place to plan their vacation while sipping wine and eating cheese. The lounge features organic coffee, boutique wines, artisan chocolate, gourmet cheese, sandwiches and desserts.
There will also be travel advisors available at the lounge to help guests design their dream vacation, which includes upgrades, and VIP treatments. The advisors will be accessible for exclusive members of the Virtuoso luxury travel network.
Departure Lounge launched in West Lake five years ago. The business works to combine travel assistance with a coffee and wine bar.
“Our clients are Austin’s most passionate travelers, and we are thrilled that they’ll have a familiar place at the airport to grab a great bite or beverage, while enjoying video virtual getaways to some of the best hotels, resorts, lodges and cruise ships on the planet that all offer Departure Lounge travel clients special upgrades and amenities,” said Departure Lounge founder Keith Waldon.
Other tasty treats at ABIA include Berry Austin. The Austin business opened in 2009 and offrs smoothies, shakes, and frozen yogurt.
“We are very excited to be able to provide healthy and delicious snacks for our Austin neighbors and visitors to our city as they visit Austin-Bergstrom International Airport,” said Kathy Steele, founder of Berry Austin.
Both of the new businesses are now open at ABIA, across from Gate 8.
