ALDEN, N.Y. -- An upgrade to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office tactical training center on Genesee Road in Alden means deputies, SWAT team members and FBI agents can train here year-round.

The $2 million upgrade features two new automatic shooting ranges with individual control towers, classrooms and a new indoor hostage training facility.

The upgrade was initiated after Buffalo's FBI office donated $800,000 towards the upgrade. Working with county officials, the other funding was provided to ensure law enforcement agencies could continue to get the proper training they need.
