NORTH WILKESBORO, N.C. – A Pike Electric lineman is dead after being seriously injured Tuesday.

• TC Simpson was a lineman at Pike Electric
• Incident happened on Wood Stream Drive on Tuesday morning
• AGoFundMe has been set up for funeral expenses

According to Mulberry/Fairplains Fire Rescue’s Facebook post, crews responded to an electrocution victim on Wood Stream Drive Tuesday morning. Upon their arrival, officials say other Pike Electric workers were assisting the victim who was then transported to a hospital for treatment. TC Simpson later died from his injuries.

“These linemen are unsung heroes that we as a society rely on. God Bless them all,” the department said in the Facebook post.

To help with expenses, a GoFundMe account has been set up for Simpson's family.
