GREENSBORO, N.C. -- City workers in Greensboro could see an increase in their pay checks by the end of the next fiscal year.

  • Workers are asking for a minimum of $15/hour.
  • This is a $2 increase than their current wage.
  • Interim city manager David Parrish is working on a new budget with a pay increase.

Workers attended a city council meeting Tuesday night to ask for a minimum of $15 an hour, which is $2 more than the current wage.

Interim city manager David Parrish says he is working on a budget that will include a pay increase for more than 3,000 city workers.

"We as an organization are committed again to our employees, and investing in our employees just like we are investing in our community. We have great staff and we want to continue to value them,” said Parrish.

Parrish will present that budget to council at the next meeting on May 15.
