GREENSBORO, N.C. -- The City of Greensboro is suspending rules on trash to deal with pick-up after the weekend's storm.

Thursday marks the first day that city crews are getting into Greensboro's hardest hit areas to start picking up debris from the tornado.

The city's waiving yard debris restrictions for all people in the Thursday and Friday solid waste routes affected by Sunday's storm.

As long as you can get it to the curb, city crews will haul it to the landfill. They're asking that you separate storm debris from construction debris first.

Officials are asking those on the Thursday and Friday routes who aren't tornado victims to sill tie, bag, or bundle yard waste.

Additionally, anyone able to take their yard debris to the White Street Landfill may drop it off free of charge.

Remember to separate construction waste from yard garbage in two separate piles.
