LONG VIEW, N.C. -- The Long View Police Department is investigating after they say someone shot at their department headquarters Monday night.

Chief Michael Winters says a fireman was outside the building on the phone when he heard someone shooting around 6 p.m.

Sources say the fireman didn't see a car, or anyone nearby.

Police did recover some shell casings, but they say this kind of incident is very surprising.

"This is the first time, I’ve been here 26 years, and nothing like this has ever happened, so it’s kind of a shock,” said Chief Michael Winters of the Long View PD
