GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Houston Rockets and former Wake Forest University point guard Chris Paul is helping get the next generation of basketball stars ready now.

Paul's CP3 Basketball Academy opened in Greensboro on Monday.

The academy looks to help young athletes develop their basketball IQ and skill set.

Organizers say basketball is another way to teach kids about life.

"Coming up playing basketball my whole life I think you can learn a lot of life lessons playing basketball. It’s a lot of trial and tribulations a lots of ups and downs as so in the world. It just teaches you how to deal with some of the things you may not want to deal with but you have to as a person,” said John Adams.

The academy is being held at Proehlific Park in Greensboro four nights a week.
