DAVIE COUNTY, N.C. -- Reports of inappropriate photos circulating at Davie County middle schools leads to a joint investigation between the school district and the Davie County Sheriff’s Office.

The school district released a statement saying they’re aware that some students had the photos on their cell phones, and parents and administration are cooperating with the investigation.

According to the sheriff, they’re also working to educate kids on the risks of technology.

Davie County’s Sheriff JD Hartman, said, "Once it’s out there it doesn’t come back. It’s out there. And people share it, and that’s the danger we try to educate kids about. Once you put something out there you cannot get it back."

Misty Green, the parent of a student at South Davie Middle School, said, "This is a good opportunity to have a talk with them, about why you don’t send pictures and why you don’t do things on cell phones because once you send it there’s no taking it back, it’s out there for the world to see."

As of now, there are no charges filed in connection to this case.
