GUILFORD COUNTY -- Guilford Tech students in the dental program took time out of class Friday to clean young kids' teeth.

About two dozen Hope Academy students between the ages of 10 and 15 also learned about the importance of visiting the dentist.

The event is part of the American Dental Association's 'Give Kids a Smile' program.

"So, just knowing the basics of brushing your teeth, how important diet is to your oral hygiene and also, going to the dentist," said Dr. Rebecca Glover Andrews, with the Guilford County Dental Society.

GTCC's Dental Hygiene Clinic in Jamestown is open to the public for services specifically for underserved and elderly people.
