HIGH POINT, N.C. -- High Point police are investigating an armed robbery that left a man dead over the weekend.

Officials say two suspects broke into 40-year-old Simmie Betha's home on Tyson Street and robbed him Saturday.

Police say Betha then followed them into the parking lot before he was shot.

He was taken to the hospital where he died.

His death marks the 17th homicide in High Point this year.
