RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. -- The Randolph County Sheriff's Office is receiving praise after deputies used a drone to locate a missing 82-year-old woman on Sunday.
According to Sheriff Robert Graves, the elderly woman was reported missing around 11:30 a.m.
Deputies called in dogs and the sheriff's office drone operator, Officer Adam Krolfifer.
Once on scene, Krolfifer was able to locate the missing person within 25 minutes.
The woman, whose name is not being released for privacy reason, was returned safely to her family.
The drone program is one of the newest projects at the RCSO.
