GREENSBORO, N.C. – The first of its kind eatery in the state has opened its doors in the Triad.
The Crooked Tail Cat Cafe has all the perks --- your favorite coffee and cats in the same location.
"People have been very excited about this,” said owner Karen Stratman. “I've got a lot of positive reception of what I'm doing."
Because of health regulations, the cafe and cat center are separated.
The front of the shop is all about the cats while the back room is for the food.
"Once we serve the food to you, it's fair game on where you take it if you want to take it to the kitty lounge,” said Stratman.
The idea is for people to hit it off with the cats while they lounge and maybe take them home.
"We have teamed up with a local rescue organization, Red Dog Farm,” said Stratman. “We have one resident cat living here right now. All the other cats that are here living are actually up for adoption."
People who want to adopt can apply. The rescue organization will do background checks to make sure customers smitten with the kittens can give them a good home.
Reservations are a must in order to visit. Their number is (336) 550-4024
The cafe is located at 604 South Elm Street in Greensboro. They are open Tuesday through Sunday.
