State Senator John DeFrancisco could be looking at running for governor.

DeFrancisco says he's been visiting counties across the state, with several more visits planned. He also said change is needed because the state of New York had a net loss in population last year.

"They're not leaving because they're happy about big news projects. They're leaving, I believe because the economy is not helping those at bottom end of the spectrum. And, those that are small business owners, and those that are trying to fight under all the rules that new York has before you can make a dollar and hire somebody,” said DeFrancisco

DeFrancisco expects anyone with any interest, himself included, would probably decide by January. But ultimately, he says it's about whom the Republican Party feels is the most electable.
