ROUND ROCK, Texas — Hundreds of anime fans are gathering this weekend as part of the AnimeCTX convention.

It's all happening in Round Rock and it features artists, panels and cosplay contests. Several of the attendees we spoke with say the event helps them break out of their shell.

"I was diagnosed with a mental illness at 16 years old but I've been making my art my whole life. Being able to have that ability and will to make art it has really helped me through stressful times as a way to relax and calm my mind," says artist Scout Bennett.

The convention goes through Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Mariott Hotel on 2600 La Frontera Boulevard in Round Rock.
