SPECTRUM NEWS VIDEO: The Vestal community continuing its efforts to recover from the recent flooding. Now, Broome County officials are lending a hand in the process. The county sent dumpsters to four different locations and are waiving the tipping fee at the landfill for residents to throw out debris. However, the main issue lies with the Choconut Creek. In 2006, the Vestal town supervisor tried to get the DEC to change the creek's infrastructure, but the DEC refused. Without that state approval, the town is not allowed to make any changes to the environment, but officials say enough is enough.
